Best of '90s Jazz

The ‘90s were a renaissance for jazz. Conservatories began offering formal education in the genre, and a new generation of players led by Wynton Marsalis spearheaded a movement to honor jazz history. While some questioned the notion of bringing the people's music out from its dark home in basement bars and into the mainstream, it undeniably helped bolster jazz's visibility and commercial success.
