At Home With Zac Brown: The Playlist

When the pandemic began, Zac Brown immediately took action. “A lot of my time and energy went into just prepping for a survival situation,” Brown tells Apple Music. “I'm a very tribal person. So I thought, ‘What do I need to do? What supplies do I need to accumulate to be able to provide for my tribe if food supply chains are down?’ My instinct was to make my house a compound that’s safe for my kids and my people in our circle, and that we can grow enough food to survive and be able to be locked in.” Aside from stocking up, the country crossover artist has been spending quality time with his five kids—something he hasn’t been able to do often since he’s kept an intense working schedule for 22 years straight. “I’ve been able to just be present and be out with them,” he says. “We're on the water paddleboarding in the mornings and then pulling them on the tube and running around and doing some bow fishing at night.” On this exclusive Apple Music playlist curated by Brown himself, he shares tracks by Ben Harper, Knife Party, Sturgill Simpson, and Tom Petty, whom he’s idolized since he was young. “He was like the Sinatra of the rock world in a way,” he says. “He had a swagger about him that was really special.”
