Andreas Vollenweider Essentials

When Andreas Vollenweider picked up the harp for the first time in 1975, he felt the ancient instrument lacked something necessary for his musical intentions. This led him to create an electro-acoustic harp, which would provide his signature sound. Since then, the Swiss composer and multi-instrumentalist has become a star, netting GRAMMY® Awards for his albums and a huge international following. Vollenweider is associated most readily with new age, but in reality, his music spans a variety of genres, with elements of classical, folk, and jazz all becoming part of his magical mix.
