Andrés Calamaro: Influences

Known for moody pop ballads and hard-rock anthems, Andrés Calamaro has absorbed Bob Dylan's thick-skinned fatalism and the decadent outlook of Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side." But he often flavors his music with the sort of folkloric accent heard in Colombian accordionist Lisandro Meza's "Sal y Agua" and the emotional fervor of Spanish crooner Miguel Rios' "Santa Lucia."
