Tommy Boy


Tommy Boy Music is an American independent record label founded in 1981 in New York City. The label is credited with launching the music careers Queen Latifah, Afrika Bambaataa, De La Soul, Naughty By Nature, House of Pain, and Digital Underground. Tommy Boy is also credited with introducing genres such as Latin hip-hop and electro, a genre of electronic music and early hip-hop directly influenced by the use of the Roland TR-808 drum machine and funk, to mainstream audiences in America.
