Zacara da Teramo

About Zacara da Teramo

Antonio Zacara da Teramo was an Italian composer who also served in the Roman Curia as a scribe and book painter between 1390 and 1413. During his lifetime he was most famous for his ballatas, which were medieval pop songs written about a variety of topics relevant to that time. He is also known by several Gloria-Credo pairs that are seen as forerunners to the Latin parody mass settings of later Renaissance composers.
