About YUKI
The Japanese vocalist YUKI is known both for her ’90s rock band JUDY AND MARY and for her successful solo career in the 2000s. ∙ She was a founding member of JUDY AND MARY—known for such Japanese chart-topping albums as 1997’s The Power Source and 2001’s Warp. ∙ In 1999, she fronted NiNa, a supergroup with members of The B-52’s, Japan, and The Plastics, whose hits “Happy Tomorrow” and “Rest in Peace” appeared in the anime series Arc the Lad. ∙ YUKI embarked on a solo pop career with her Gold-certified 2002 debut, Prismic. ∙ Her third solo album, 2005’s Joy, was a Platinum-certified breakthrough and the first of 5 consecutive No. 1s on Japan’s Oricon Albums chart. ∙ After collaborating with J-pop artist Chara in 1999 on the single “Ainohi Mittsu Orange,” the two singers reunited in 2020 for the EP Echo.
