An uncompromising straight-edge hardcore unit based out of Newark, Delaware, Year of the Knife deliver a punitive blast of classic metalcore and left-leaning modern hardcore. Formed in 2015 around the talents of vocalist Tyler Mullen, guitarist Brandon Watkins, Watkins' wife Madison Watkins on bass, and twin brothers Andrew and Aaron Kisielewski on drums and guitar, respectively, the quintet issued their debut EP, Overgrowth, in 2016. A second EP, First State of Aggression, arrived in 2018 and caught the attention of Pure Noise Records, who released the band's full-length debut, Ultimate Aggression, in 2019. ~ James Christopher Monger
