Wingtip is the work of Brooklyn-based, San Francisco-bred singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ Nick Perloff-Giles, whose uplifting and often buoyant brand of pop has yielded streaming hits like 2017's Sophie Strauss collaboration "Rewind" and 2019's "Heartworks." After delivering his second EP, 2020's All Your Friends Are Here, Wingtip issued the popular 2021 single "Bored."
Initially honing his chops as Flaxo, Perloff-Giles reemerged in 2015 as Wingtip, delivering a more soulful and organic-leaning sound that incorporates pop, indie, electro, and disco. With tracks like "Better," "Eventually," and "Missing You," Wingtip quickly established himself, earning praise from tastemaker imprint Neon Gold and eventually signing with Republic/Casablanca Records. His 2017 collaboration with Sophie Strauss, "Rewind," became a major hit, notching millions of streams. Tour stops at Lollapalooza, Life Is Beautiful, and Electric Forest coincided with the release of his follow-up single, the summer anthem "Walls." After a series of collaborations including "Cross Your Mind" with morgxn, Wingtip released his debut 2018 debut EP Ghosts of Youth, which yielded another streaming hit in "Pavement." Among his 2019 offerings was the bouncy love song, "Heartworks," and he returned in 2020 with tracks like "Demon" and "Strangers" as well as another EP, All Your Friends Are Here. Wingtip's popularity continued into 2021 with additional songs like "Bored" and "Hope They Love You." ~ Timothy Monger
