Whiskey N' Rye

About Whiskey N' Rye

Seattle's Whiskey n' Rye is a rootsy, Americana- and country-tinged rock outfit centered on the music of singer/songwriter, filmmaker, writer, and academic Philip Lindholm. A native of Seattle, Lindholm is a polymath who holds three Master's degrees, as well as a Doctorate in philosophical theology, which he earned from Oxford in 2010. While at Oxford, he also spent time working as an actor, and produced several documentaries for Britain's ITV network. Also during his time there, Lindholm augmented his religious studies by studying music composition at Juilliard, after which he toured briefly as a singer/songwriter. Upon returning to the United States, Lindholm accepted a position as Kierkegaard scholar, lecturing in comparative religion at the University of Washington. In 2013, he formed Whiskey n' Rye along with several musicians from the Tacoma/Seattle area. In 2014, they released their , full-length, eponymous debut. ~ Matt Collar
