About Wayne Bethanis

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory, 5 years old: my Greek grandfather, Ulyssis Bethanis, sat down with me at the piano and taught me how to role a C major chord up and down the piano. He saw how fast my fingers moved and immediately called a piano teacher! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Carpenters, Carpenters Gold (35th Anniversary Edition) Glenn Gould, Bach: Goldberg Variations, BWV 988 (The 1955 & 1981 Recordings) The Beatles, Revolver Glenn Gould: Played it a million times and still get chills; he set the bar for me. Carpenters: Her voice. Period. Beatles: Eleanor Rigby, with it's Baroque string quartet, brought me to the album; the actual album brought me to the Beatles. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “You Know I Will Remember You (Room 112)” As an AIDS volunteer in college, I played piano to entertain patients; they said someday I would be successful and to never forget them. This song, which just hit #1 on the OWMR singles chart, is my way of saying thank you. A true power ballad. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Walking through Hancock Park here in Los Angeles, glancing down at my phone and seeing my album Remember the Rain debuting in Apple Music Top Ten for New Instrumental Releases. This inspired me to keep going and so glad I did! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes! Creating & hosting programs, both mass media and live, that bring my music, as well as other artists', in a variety show format that entertains and heals the world; bringing back that formula to a world that needs comfort, laughs & GREAT MUSIC!
