About WANIMA

WANIMA is an irreverent pop-punk trio whose energetic sound has repeatedly topped the Japanese charts.

∙ A few years after the dissolution of their high-school band HANIMA, members Kenta and Ko-shin started a new group, WANIMA, in 2010.
∙ Their 2014 debut, Can Not Behave!!, landed the group on the Japanese charts, but they truly broke through the following year with Are You Coming?, which went all the way to No. 4.
∙ In 2017, their song “CHARM” earned Best Rock Video Honors at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan.
∙ Four of their singles have been certified Gold, while 2016’s “Tomoni” went Platinum and 2017’s “Yattemiyou” went double-Platinum.
∙ WANIMA’s 2018 major-label debut LP, Everybody!!, went to No. 1 on the Japanese album charts, as did the 2019 follow-up, COMINATCHA!!.
∙ “JUICE UP!! Theme,” which also appeared on Everybody!!, was selected as the official song of the Japanese version of 2018 superhero movie Ant-Man and the Wasp.
