About Wang Chung
Best known for inviting everybody to “Wang Chung” tonight, the titular British pop act stormed the charts in the mid-1980s, joining the onslaught of dance-friendly, synth-driven acts. Fronted by singer/guitarist Jack Hues, the band also scored an international hit with “Dance Hall Days” before venturing into soundtrack territory with the surprisingly moody score to William Friedkin’s TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A. Although the group disbanded in the early 1990s, the new millennium brought rumors of a reunion, rumblings that were fueled by an odd 2006 online cover of Nelly’s “Hot in Here.”
