About Walking On Cars

Walking On Cars was an Irish indie-rock band best known for the smash 2016 album Everything This Way. ∙ Influenced by the music of such disparate bands as Nirvana, Arcade Fire, and Coldplay, the band was formed in 2010 by former school friends. ∙ They first won attention with the debut single “Catch Me If You Can,” which spent 20 weeks on the Irish Singles chart, eventually reaching No. 27. ∙ Everything This Way, the band’s debut album, reached No. 1 on the Irish Albums chart in 2016, and it was the only Irish release of the year to go double-Platinum in that country. ∙ In 2017, the group was the Irish recipient of the European Border Breakers Award, which honors artists who achieve significant success outside of their home country. ∙ “Monster,” a track from their hit 2019 album, Colours, was used as the opening theme for the 2020 British TV mystery series The Stranger. ∙ Clouds, an EP released in 2020 as a farewell to their fans on the eve of the band’s breakup, reached No. 13 on the Irish Albums chart.
