About Volodja Balzalorsky
Volodja Balzalorsky, a concert violinist who has been noted for having intuitive interpretations and a rich tone, performs and teaches master classes throughout Europe and North America. Balzalorsky studied at Cologne's Höchschule für Musik, Moscow's Conservatorium P.I. Tchaikovsky, and finally, Zagreb's Music Academy. He has built long-term partnerships with several musicians, including pianists Christoph Theiler and Hinko Haas, percussionist Amy Lynne Barber, and his fellow members of the Amael Trio, pianist Tatjana Ognjanovic and cellist Damir Hamidullin. Since the late 1980s, Balzalorsky has made live recordings of sonatas, as well as making several radio and television appearances, particularly in his native Slovenia and surrounding countries. In addition to his travels to perform and teach, Balzalorsky holds a faculty position at the Music Academy at Ljubljana University.
