Alejandro Escovedo, Real Animal David Bowie, Lodger Tom Waits, Bone Machine I first heard Tom Waits in a radio interview late at night after a show. He sounded like he's been eating razor blades. He explained how the title of his song Burmashave was based on billboards he drove by on the highway. I love the gritty poetry.
