About Urpi Barco
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My parents are artists so my first memories are of their puppet works, my mother sang and played the "Tambora" for as long as I remember. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Esperanza Spalding, Chamber Music Society Lila Downs, Una Sangre (One Blood) Natalia Lafourcade, De Todas las Flores Three women composers who represent their cultures and countries, and through their voices, they express their feelings in a unique way. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Candelario (feat. Andrés Rotmistrovsky & Marcelo Wolosky)” This song is special because it tells a sweet story and speaks about a very special culture from my country, Colombia. Additionally, its sound is unique, rhythmic, and sophisticated. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When I did a concert of my songs with the Colima Philharmonic Orchestra in Mexico, along with 40 children and young people, it was exciting, the best moment I have ever experienced with my music. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to continue traveling the world with my music, to be recognized on major international stages, and to collaborate with artists I admire, such as Lila Downs.
