Influenced by blistering metal and bludgeoning hardcore in equal measure, Massachusetts band Unearth have perfected that elusive blend called “metalcore” without watering down their sound. Though active since 1998, Unearth’s 2001 debut, THE STINGS OF CONSCIENCE, broke the band wide in extreme metal circles. Tours with Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God, and Norma Jean, among others, further increased their profile, positioning them near the forefront of modern metal. Further appearances with Slayer and on Ozzfest cemented their status, and their acclaimed 3rd album, IN THE EYES OF FIRE, featured production by metal veteran Terry Date.
