About Typhoon Ferri
Typhoon Ferri was formed in the spring of 1999 and officially hit the road a year later. Each bandmember brought professional live show experience with him in joining the ranks. Lead singer Mark McInnis fronted a successful Boston-based band for two years. The band performed at various college stadiums around New England and shared the stage with thhe Lemonheads, Rustic Overtones, and God Street Wine. Some of the venues frequented were Harpers Ferry, Middle East, and The Paradise Rock Club. Tyler Montgomery, the lightning-fast drummer for Typhoon Ferri, took to the stage with the world-renowned band Roots. At the young age of ten, he sat in with Santana during an East Coast tour. In the year 2000, he could be found performing with a Vermont funk project known as Royal Jive. Aaron Ferri, who takes on the groove of bass guitarist, was the magic behind the charisma of Buffalo Super 7. Buffalo Super 7, a sought-out group in the area, could be found frequenting Boston and Rhode Island venues T.T. the Bear's Place and Lupos. Ferri describes Tyhoon Ferri as a "classic rock-influenced band with a little blues/funk flavor." The band came up with the name Typhoon Ferri as a cross between drummer Tyler "the Rhythm Typhoon" Montgomery and bassist Aaron Ferri. Typhoon Ferri has made a huge impact on the music scene around the Boston area. The word spread nationwide as The Boston Globe reported that the band's song "Infamous" was the number one downloaded song on their www.Boston.com MP3 Music section in March of 2000. Typhoon Ferri released their debut album in April 2000 on the Wishbone Records label. ~ Larry Belanger
