As the duo TWENTY88, singer Jhené Aiko and rapper Big Sean showcase their natural chemistry over silken future-R&B production.
• Their artistic partnership dates back to 2012, when Aiko lent vocals to “I’m Gonna Be,” off Sean’s Detroit mixtape. She later appeared on his tracks “Beware” (featuring Lil Wayne) and “I Know.”
• TWENTY88 dropped their eight-song self-titled debut album in 2016 with no singles leading up to the release.
• The album was accompanied by a short sci-fi film, Out of Love, in which Sean and Aiko play heightened versions of themselves in an alternate reality. It borrows visual inspiration from Alex Garland’s 2014 film Ex Machina.
• In 2020, the duo reunited for “Time In,” off Sean’s fifth studio album, Detroit 2. Upon its release, Sean teased that more new material was on the way.
