Known professionally as Toro y Moi, prolific singer-songwriter and producer Chaz Bear has worked in chillwave, hip-hop, indie rock, and other genres since 2009. ∙ His sophomore LP, Underneath the Pine, was included on Pitchfork’s Top 50 Albums of 2011 list. ∙ Thanks to the hit single “So Many Details,” Toro y Moi’s synth-heavy, pop-infused 2013 LP, Anything In Return, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart. ∙ In 2015, he was featured on the track “Flying High” from rapper Travis Scott’s Platinum-selling LP Rodeo. ∙ Instead of touring behind 2017’s Boo Boo, he immersed himself in the club scene by playing DJ sets, which inspired the sonic shift of his 2019 LP, Outer Peace.
