About Tom Roger Aadland

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember singing "Simple Song of Freedom" on the Norwegian national day, 17th of May, in the assembly hall in Vikebygd, the village where I grew up. My cousin accompanied me on organ, and I remember he forgot to play the last verse. I was furious! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Dylan, Blood On the Tracks Glenn Gould, Bach: Goldberg Variations, BWV 988 (The 1955 & 1981 Recordings) The Beatles, Revolver These could work on a desert island. I waver between 3-4 albums of Dylan's, but often "Blood" is the one. I grew up listening to Beatles, and Tomorrow Never Knows is pure genius. I listened a lot to Gould playing Bach when I studied music. Timeless! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Salmer unda palmer” This song isn't like anything I've written before. I wrote it in one day, in South Africa, in a beautiful garden. The song feels close to my soul, both musically and in the lyrics. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I recorded my latest album, Lysvandring, alone at home in my music room, with just my guitars. I made the album like a "good demo tape". I'm amazed to see that this album seems to really touch those who listen to it. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd like to record an album with an orchestra, or a chamber orchestra. And I'd like to record more duets!
