About Timothy Byram-Wigfield

This noted organist, who has appeared throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, and North America, is renowned for his wide-ranging repertoire that includes transcriptions of Paul Dukas' Sorcerer's Apprentice and Camille Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals. Byram-Wigfield was a chorister of King's College in Cambridge, an organ scholar of Christ Church in Oxford, and sub-organist of Winchester Cathedral. For eight years he was master of the music at St. Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh, and became the first person appointed to the newly created post of director of college music at Jesus Collage, Cambridge. He also served as director of music of hte Choristers at St. George's Chapel, Windsor. In addition to his recital tours, Byram-Wigfield also frequently broadcasts on the British channel Radio 3. He has presented an entire cycle of all of J.S. Bach's organ works and was asked to inaugurate the new organ in St. Barnabas Church in Brooklyn, NY.
