In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I began early playing the piano, but didn't really dig into the guitar and songwriting until much later in life. Attending a songwriting workshop with Eliza Gilkyson was a turning point for me as a songwriter prompting a collaboration with her. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bruce Springsteen, Nebraska Eliza Gilkyson, Hard Times In Babylon Steve Earle & The Dukes (& Duchesses), The Low Highway These are three influential albums in my songwriting and playing. Tell us why you chose this song. “Rolling Past Cape Girardeau” I like the use of imagery in this song to paint a picture of modern America, and in the end the hopeful search for a dream that binds us all together. And when I hear Dave Miller's piano enter and my daughter, Linnea's harmony join in...perfect. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing the first version of My Heart Aches for Eliza Gilkyson, John Gorka, and Don Richmond, and hearing Eliza singing along, John playing guitar, and Don adding mandolin. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My goal in music is always to find places to play to audiences who are tuned into the song, the vibe, and the craft of songwriting, and listening with attention and joy in their hearts.
