About Tigercats

East London indie group Tigercats were formed in 2010 by singer/songwriter and guitarist Duncan Barrett along with his brother Giles on bass, Jonny Evans on drums, and Laura Kovic on vocals and keyboards. Influenced by classic U.K. pop acts like Orange Juice, Belle and Sebastian, and Hefner, they issued a pair of singles on small British labels Haircut Records and WeePOP! before making their album debut with 2012's Isle of Dogs. Their mix of gentle, bittersweet pop and quirky, fuzzed-out indie eventually attracted the attention of noted British label Fortuna, who signed them in 2014. Now working as a quintet with the addition of guitarist Paul Rains from Fortuna labelmates Allo Darlin', they released their sophomore album, Mysteries, in early 2015. ~ Timothy Monger
