Tiger Village

Tiger Village, a solo project of Cleveland-based musician Tim Thornton, blurs the line between glitchy experimental electronic music and free improvisation. His music generally consists of fractured clusters of manic rhythms and bright tonal bursts, with an erratic driving force but no clear destination. He constructs his music from a massive system of samplers and synthesizers, with percussion sounds sourced from acoustic drums as well as found objects. Tiger Village has issued over two dozen cassettes, CD-Rs, and digital recordings since 2013, through labels such as Thornton's own Suite 309, Orange Milk, and Hausu Mountain, which released efforts such as 2019's Modern Drummer and 2023's The Celebration.
