This Fractured Mind

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Unpacking my first albums from the 90s, I used to pour over obscure and sometimes opaque rock and grunge lyrics, often giving them my own meaning. It was a time when the story of an album gave it longevity and value. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alice Cooper, Brutal Planet David Bowie, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (2012 Remaster) Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Murder Ballads (2011 - Remaster) I experience the lives of the characters in each of these albums as parts or a mind trying to grapple with it's inevitably imperfect yet fascinating fit in the world into which it has been thrust into. Tell us why you chose this song. “Hold My Soul” Hold my soul is seeping with warm vintage rock vibes all the way through, but its at the bridge and guitar solo where it intensifies. The art rock style vocals remind me of David Bowie and Pink Floyd and have character and depth of emotion. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The most memorable moments have been the confrontation of pain and vulnerability in the writing and release of these songs. Some evoke a burning pain that I eventually learned to stand up in, and then experience love as the pain subsided... Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? For a long time I have chased the idea of making music convey 3D feelings, through spatial audio, spatial mixing, melody, harmony and rhythm. On the bucket list is creating a stage experience with 3D audio reactive lighting for this fractured mind.
