In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember my mom singing us to sleep at night. She’d sing everything from “You Are My Sunshine” to Brahms’s Lullaby. In the morning, she would sing to wake us up. Every day started and ended with music. It filled my life from the very beginning. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Grateful Dead, Terrapin Station Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here Steely Dan, Aja Remastered I’m a huge fan of progressive rock, psychedelic music, fusion, and jam bands. These three albums reflect that spirit—they’re exploratory, courageously experimental, and show deep attention to composition and arrangement. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “When We Laugh” This song is my wife's and my love story. Every line is an actual part of our story. It took a year to craft the lyrics and get the rhyme and rhythm right. Also, it has some strong melodies and inventive time signature changes. I'm very proud of it. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I played a new song for my sister who was watching her friend's four year old daughter. Her friend's daughter started dancing and my sister ended up crying listening to me play the song. What a blessing to make music that really touches people! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I hope one day to play a concert where the audience starts singing along with one of our songs. I really think I'll feel like "we made it" when that happens.
