About The Scott Brothers

It's never a bad idea to have a second career option if your first plan doesn't work out. Drew and Jonathan Scott have enjoyed a successful run on television as hosts of the reality series Property Brothers, but in 2015 the siblings branched out into country music. Drew and his twin brother Jonathan were born on April 28, 1978 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Scotts grew up in a musical household, and their father often led Saturday night singalongs at their ranch. The brothers had an interest in both acting and comedy, and initially went into the housing market to help finance entertainment projects. Both brothers are licensed real estate agents, and Jonathan is also a licensed contractor. While they pursued music as a hobby, the housing market became their career, and in 2004, they teamed with their brother J.D. to form a production company, Dividian Production Group, and move into television. In 2011, the three Scotts put together their knowledge of realty, renovation, and entertainment, and launched Property Brothers. Originally created for Canada's W Network, it became an international hit when HGTV in the United States picked it up. Drew and Jonathan soon developed a loyal fan following as they demonstrated the finer points of turning fixer-uppers into dream homes, and the hit show inspired several spin-offs. In November 2015, Drew and Jonathan hosted a special, Property Brothers at Home on the Ranch, and they used the show to premiere their musical efforts. "Hold On" and "Let the Night Shine In," a pair of original tunes the Scott Brothers recorded for the special, debuted on the show, and "Hold On" was released to radio as a single. The Scott Brothers later produced a music video for "Hold On," and the song debuted at number 38 on the Hot Country Songs chart. ~ Mark Deming
