Formed in 2007, New Zealand’s The Naked and Famous have crafted a sound that fuses indie rock with synth-pop.

∙ The band took their name from a line in Tricky’s 1996 single “Tricky Kid,” which in turn quotes the song “Naked and Famous,” by The Presidents of the United States of America.
∙ Their 2010 chart-topping hit, “Young Blood,” not only went Platinum in the US, but it was also named Single of the Week in the Australia and New Zealand iTunes Stores.
Passive Me, Aggressive You, their 2010 debut album, hit No. 1 and was certified Gold in New Zealand.
∙ The Naked and Famous won eight New Zealand Music Awards in a three-year span, including Best Group honors in 2011 and 2014.
In Rolling Waves, their 2013 sophomore album, reached No. 48 on the Billboard 200.
