In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Roary walked into the basement where Robbie and Alex were conducting band practice with a previous project. Bonding over shared musical interest, they formed the relationship that would carry The Lionyls to through their first 10 years together. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jimi Hendrix, Band of Gypsys Stevie Wonder, Songs in the Key of Life The Meters, Rejuvenation It's impossible to choose. Each of us draws inspiration from our own corner of the world, resulting in an eclectic style that is both familiar and fresh. We have a deep appreciation for all kinds of music: soul, rock & roll, funk, RnB, Jazz and more. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Voice of Truth” We try to write music with the power to elevate; the mood, the vibe, perhaps even one's consciousness when we hit the mark just right. This song stands out as a successful attempt to do just that, and we're very proud of it. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Early in our career we had the opportunity to open for Duran Duran at The Ottawa Bluesfest. This moment affirmed we were on the right track and propelled us further into the Canadian music scene where we've been honing our craft ever since. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Absolutely. We have big dreams. For instance, one day we hope to share the stage with some of our musical heroes. We'd also like to travel and play our music for fans worldwide. We'll have to see where life takes us!
