About The Del-Vikings

Best known for the enduring doo wop classic "Come Go with Me," a number four hit in 1957, the Del-Vikings also earned their place in history as the first successful multi-racial band of the rock era. The quartet met in Air Force barracks in the mid-'50s and swiftly honed a smooth, harmonic pop sound. In the wake of their huge hit, military assignments would wreak havoc with the band's lineup, although they would score another Top Ten hit with "Whispering Bells." While the original four members reunited in the '60s, they never replicated their early radio success. However, various lineups of the Del-Vikings could be found touring the states into the 21st century. ~ Rovi Staff
