About The Choir of Peterhouse, Cambridge

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. We are the Choir of the oldest college of the University of Cambridge, founded in 1284. In 1635, a new choir was founded to sing in the college's new Chapel. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Never weather-beaten sail (Trilo)” We love this piece, written for us by our Director of Music Simon Jackson, setting words by Thomas Campion (who studied at Peterhouse). It's based on a Swedish folksong, Trilo, sung by the wives of fishermen seeing the fishing boats returning.
