Tannis Slimmon

About Tannis Slimmon

Tannis Slimmon has been around the Canadian music scene for over 20 years. In 1980, she started singing professionally in small schools, churches, as well as town halls in the small farming communities of the Prairies. In 1984, she joined the Byrd Sisters, which toured extensively throughout North America from 1984 to 1995, releasing three albums in the process. It wasn't until 2001 that she decided to release her debut album. For the album titled Oak Lake, named after her hometown, Slimmon had help from members of the Skydiggers, King Cobb Steelie, and Dinner Is Ruined. The singer has also played in a roots pop trio Benji, as well as in the acoustic folk duo called Crows Feet. ~ Jason MacNeil
