About Swingin' Medallions

The Swingin’ Medallions were a horn-driven band from South Carolina known for their party-oriented “beach-style” rock. They began as Pieces of Eight in the late 1950s, but changed their name in 1965 after inking a record deal. The group is best known for their minor 1966 hit, “Double Shot (of My Baby’s Love),” which hit #17 on the Billboard charts, giving their only full-length effort, DOUBLE SHOT, a boost in sales. The band, which remains popular in the South despite its lack of new material, continues to play reunion shows (with a revolving line-up of musicians).
