About Susie Ibarra
A veteran of New York City’s downtown avant-garde jazz scene, drummer/percussionist Susie Ibarra has performed with an impressive list of musicians, including John Zorn, William Parker, Matthew Shipp, Ikue Mori, and Mark Dresser, as well as the more rock-oriented artists Thurston Moore and Yo La Tengo. In the late 1990s, Ibarra struck out on her own as a bandleader, resulting to a number of well-received albums, some heavily influenced by world music, including FLOWER AFTER FLOWER and FOLKLORIKO.
