Sukriti Kakar

About Sukriti Kakar

Lending her sinuous vocals to beloved Bollywood soundtracks and dance-ready Indian pop, Sukriti Kakar brightens every new project with shimmering performances.

• Sukriti Kakar was greatly inspired by her classically trained mother, her older sister Akriti—a famous Bollywood singer—and her singing twin sister Prakriti.
• She started out lending vocals to ad jingles and film scores until her breakout song “Pehli Baar”, a rocking duet with Siddharth Mahadevan from the soundtrack to 2015’s Dil Dhadakne Do, brought her into the limelight.
• Massive success awaited the following year with “Kar Gayi Chull” from Kapoor & Sons (Since 1921), a pulsating party anthem she sang with Badshah, Fazilpuria and Neha Kakkar.
• Kakar is a firm believer in exploring music beyond filmi. She’s sung and co-composed major Indipop duets with sister Prakriti that meld R&B, EDM, folk and Latin influences, such as on “Kehndi Haan Kehndi Naa” and “Hum Tum”—and “Mafiyaan”, which features rapper Mellow D.
• In 2021 the Kakar twins added an Indian touch to producer Amaal Mallik’s remix of Dua Lipa’s global smash “Levitating”.
