About Stryper

The Sweet brothers, Michael and Robert formed Christian heavy metal quartet, Stryper, in 1983. Dressed in matching yellow and black outfits, they were a band with a mission: to spread the word of God through rock music. A debut mini-album featured standard hard rock, while live shows climaxed with the band throwing Bibles into the audience. By their third album, Stryper had built up a loyal army of fans, and their excellently produced melodic rock pushed To Hell with the Devil to the Top 40 of the Billboard charts. In God We Trust solidified their success, but the band split following the commercial failure of 1990's Against the Law. Active again in the new millennium, Stryper has recorded and toured often.
