About Steven Moses
American rapper Steven Moses treads the emo-rap line between Trippie Redd and Lil Peep, delivering a woozy but intelligent take on the genre-crossing sound, as heard on his breakout 2018 debut album, Love Me // Leave Me, and 2020's 99. Born and raised in Blair County, Pennsylvania, Moses grew up with a penchant for music, forming punk bands in his teens, as well as being influenced by rap. With spells of homelessness, drug abuse, and failed relationships checkering his young adult past, he put all his focus on his desire to make music, using his personal experiences as subject matter. Moses started putting his work online in 2018, racking up numerous views and listens with tracks such as "Hotboy," "Alone," and the breakout "Love Me." Moses brought the tracks together for the release of the album Love Me // Leave Me that same year, while also teaming up with the likes of Maxo Kream and Jaxxon D. Silva for the release. The following year, he focused on recording new material, dropping a handful of collaborative tracks at the beginning of 2020 -- including "Nascar" with Lil Miggy and ThatFatApe, and "Money Dew" with ReMix Reek and K Rozay -- before following them up with his debut for Def Jam, "Lose It." Just a few months later, his second album, 99, was released by the label and saw him cementing his own place in the ever-evolving emo-rap scene. ~ Rich Wilson
