About Steven Cravis
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a toddler I would hit keys randomly on the piano, but it was a lot of fun! At 7 years old I asked my parents if I could have piano lessons, and I was very fortunate that they were able to enroll me in lessons. At 17 I discovered I like to compose. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Color Theory, The Majesty of Our Broken Past Oscar Peterson Trio, Nigerian Marketplace Live At the 1981 Montreux Jazz Festival Sting, Ten Summoner's Tales Remastered My faves: Ten Summoner's Tales by Sting for musicianship & variation between meters and lyric intensity, Nigerian Marketplace by Oscar Peterson - best live jazz album I've ever heard, Majesty of Our Broken Past by Color Theory (synth pop genius)! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of my most memorable moments in my career so far was getting to perform my composition Through the Kaleidoscope at the Whisperings All-Star Concert in Costa Mesa, California in 2017. It was a joy to meet the attending audience and performers! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd like to complete several more Soul Sampler EPs, and several more solo piano albums! I'd also like to record performance so that I can be holographically projected to any location, where the listeners/viewers also have a surround audio experience.
