Static Daydream are a noise pop/shoegaze duo from Fredericksburg, Virginia consisting of Paul Baker (former vocalist for Skywave and Ceremony) and his girlfriend, Jamie Casey. As with Baker's previous bands, Static Daydream's Psychocandy-indebted sound is harsh and distorted enough to peel paint off the walls, but his strong melodic sense assures that the songs are driving and immediately memorable. Baker's lyrics center around heartbreak and paranoid loneliness, and the songs have a sense of melancholy worthy of the Cure. Baker and Casey began making music in 2012, and released their debut EP, The Only One, on Moon Sounds Records in 2014. Saint Marie and Moon Sounds co-released Static Daydream's self-titled full-length debut in 2015. ~ Paul Simpson
