In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was about 6 years old, I started writing little pieces on the family baby grand piano. I was only allowed to listen to Classical music, but my first compositions still had bits of harmony and syncopation that sounded much more like jazz. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Dance This (Live)” This song came to me in a single burst of inspiration. In one afternoon, I first wrote the lyrics. I think I had them hand-written within 20 minutes. Next, came melody and then chords. 3 hours later I had recorded this first version of the track. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing improvised piano for ceremonies and gatherings is always moving for me. A dear friend asked if I'd do this for part of a memorial service a while back. Even in such a heart-wrenching moment, I sensed how moved people were. That inspired me.
