Space Of Variations

As their name suggests, Ukraine's Space of Variations contains sonic multitudes, operating within an amalgam of modern metal subgenres (djent, electronicore, industrial, and progressive metal) with equal parts raw power and technical prowess. The group issued their debut album, Mind Darknet, in 2018, introducing metal audiences to their taut musicianship and futuristic/post-apocalyptic aesthetic. The LP caught the attention of Napalm Records, which enthusiastically added SOV to its roster, releasing the assured XXXXX (2020) and Imago (2022). Four years later, the group returned with the powerful Poisoned Art, a dark, emotionally charged set of songs written during the war in Ukraine, focusing on themes of trauma and resilience.
