About Snakehips
Composed of James Carter and Oliver Lee, Snakehips is a production duo whose sound evolved to feature R&B and hip-hop on their way to becoming leaders in electronic music. ∙ Carter and Lee were first introduced during a chance meeting at a bar in Hong Kong and formed Snakehips in 2010. ∙ In 2015, Billboard ranked the duo No. 2 on their Next Big Sound artist chart. ∙ Featuring Tinashe and Chance the Rapper, 2015’s “All My Friends” debuted at No. 5 on the UK Singles chart and earned an Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song. ∙ The 2016 All My Friends EP was their first Billboard 200 entry, and it peaked at No. 11 on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. ∙ “Cruel,” their hit collaboration with Zayn, won the title of most shared and/or mentioned song across social media while topping the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks chart in 2016. ∙ Snakehips made their US TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2016 with the song “All My Friends,” and they returned again in 2017 to perform “Don’t Leave.”
