About Rain City Drive

Formed in 2014, Slaves is a post-hardcore/alt-punk band that released four albums before changing their name at the height of 2020’s nationwide civil unrest.

Through Art We Are All Equals, the group’s first LP, debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart in 2014.
∙ The band returned in 2018 with the Beautiful Death LP, and the video for lead-off single “I’d Rather See Your Star Explode” was a streaming hit.
∙ In 2019, Matt McAndrew, runner-up on the seventh season of The Voice, replaced founding vocalist Jonny Craig.
∙ After 2020’s To Better Days, the band announced a name change, saying that, as BLM supporters, they would not “tie [their] music...to a word associated with such negative weight.”
