About Shayne Plunkett

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I picked up the guitar at an early age, and one of the first songs I tried to learn was "Closure" by Chevelle. Something about 00's alternative rock, man. I spent the next 5 years learning System of a Down and Incubus' entire discographies. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Incubus, Make Yourself Toby Fox, Undertale Soundtrack Tom Misch, Geography Each of these albums represents a pillar of my musical tastes; the core influences that make up who I am as an artist. There always needs to be groove. It needs to be fun and indulgent. And it needs to kick ass. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Truth (feat. David Russell)” I wrote this song for my wife as a wedding gift. To her, about her. It's as cheesy and corny as you can get being a musician. But that doesn't mean I had some fun with it, so I took a lot of creative risks and did things I don't usually do. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? So far, I've had the pleasure of playing live opening up for bands like The Fall of Troy, Reign ******do, and Thank You Scientist. Each of these groups are made up of very nice people, too, so GO LISTEN TO THEM and support live music! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I still have yet to shake hands with Michael Einziger or Claudio Sanchez- easily two of my biggest individual influences in both guitar playing and songwriting. They are prime examples of what it means to be a true artist in the Rock n' Roll world.
