About Sevendust

Hard rockers Sevendust made their name in the ’90s nu-metal scene, racking up a trio of Gold records along the way. ∙ While their self-titled 1997 debut initially sold only a couple hundred copies, it later took off, thanks to “Black,” a fan favorite that made SPIN’s list of the 30 Best Nu-Metal Songs. ∙ Their 1999 album, Home, was the first of nine to reach the Billboard 200’s Top 20, and their single “Denial” launched a string of 13 Top 20 hits on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart. ∙ Acclaimed pop producer Butch Walker took the reins on Seasons, netting the band one of their biggest hits, “Enemy,” which was the theme song for WWE’s 2003 special Unforgiven. ∙ Guitarist Clint Lowery joined members of Doubledrive, Skrape, Stereomud, and Virgos Merlot to form the supergroup Dark New Day, which had a Top 10 Rock hit in 2005 with “Brother.” ∙ In 2013, Black Out the Sun—which featured the hit track “Decay”—was their first release to debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart. ∙ The unconventional choice to add a children’s choir to “Thank You,” on 2015’s Kill the Flaw, helped earn them a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance.
