About Scott Henderson

Hugely gifted guitarist, Scott Henderson began his formal musical education in 1978 at Florida Atlantic University before moving to Los Angeles in 1981. At the Guitar Institute of Technology under teachers such as Joe Diorio, Henderson developed a fusion guitar style that would combine his rock and funk background, the influence of Mahavishnu Orchestra and Weather Report, and the hard bop of the Miles Davis Quintet. His subsequent work with artists such as Jean-Luc Ponty, Joe Zawinul and the original Chick Corea Elektric Band, made Henderson one of the most in-demand fusion guitarists in the industry. He also led the acclaimed quartet, Tribal Tech for several years before making his solo debut with 1994's DOG PARTY.
