About Scott Agster

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My parents had an upright piano at home when I was growing up. My mom gave me piano lessons, but I was always encouraged to discover on my own as well. I would sit for hours having fun making up my own songs on the instrument. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chicago, The Chicago Transit Authority (Remastered) The Hornheads, Fat Lip Tower of Power, Soul Vaccination - Tower of Power Live I have to list Chicago "Transit Authority" as Jimmy Pankow's trombone solo on Beginnings inspired me to play trombone professionally. The other two feature some incredible horn section writing, soloing, and style that has inspired me. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Waking up by My Best Friend” This is a love song dedicated to my wife, Jill. Every morning, I wake up and feel so grateful to share my life with my best friend. The song represents how love can build and flourish as it is nurtured through the years. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When I was in my 20s, a band I was in played for and with the King of Thailand at his summer palace by the ocean. This was an amazing experience as it was outside of anything I had experienced up to that point. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to stage a large production for a bigger theater-sized venue. This would include a cast of around 20 musicians with lighting, video, and special guests. It would blend art and music that features the incredible Minneapolis music scene.
