About SCANDAL (JP)

SCANDAL (JP) is an all-female rock band formed in the mid-2000s. ∙ In 2009, they were nominated for Best New Artist at the Japan Record Awards, which honor excellence in Japanese music. ∙ Beginning with 2009’s Best Scandal, each of the group’s full-length studio albums has placed in the Top 5 of both the Billboard Japan Top Albums chart and Oricon Albums Chart. ∙ “Take Me Out” was nominated for Best Teen Choice Award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards Japan. ∙ They’ve contributed opening themes for several anime TV series, including Bleach and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, as well as the ending theme for GeGeGe no Kitarō. ∙ In 2020, bassist Tomomi Ogawa and drummer Rina Suzuki became members of the Tigers Band, which performed the Hanshin Tigers’ fight song, “Rokko Oroshi,” for in-game entertainment.
